Barracuda
This beloved Mediterranean fish restaurant is run by true Hamerkwartier locals—friends who’ve been a cherished part of our neighborhood for years. For Strip Fest, they’re pulling out all the stops: enjoy fishing-themed fun by day and live music by night. If you’ve been before, you know it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Chateau Amsterdam
Chateau Amsterdam, an urban winery. They make wines in our Hamerkwartier, which you can taste in restaurants all over the country and in their own restaurant here in our neighborhood.
During Strip Fest, they will be open during the day, featuring a bouncy castle for the kids and wines for the adults.
Coba / Tula
Coba Taqueria is a traditional Mexican restaurant with a modern twist. Inside, it feels like stepping into a Mexican cantina, with plenty of wood, statues of the Virgin Mary, candles, and bright flowers in vases.
Recently, they opened their new spot, Tula Cantina. From early morning until late at night, you can stop by for a fresh cup of coffee, a tasty treat, or one of their delicious mezcal cocktails.
De VerbroederIJ
De VerbroederIJ is a community hub by the IJ where neighbors grow veggies, tend flowers, and even hang out with Barry & Rosita, the friendliest pigs on the waterfront.
This DIY spot drives on local energy: free food markets, creative pop-ups, and workshops for everyone. Whether you’re working, volunteering, or just chilling, it’s a place where “lekker bezig zijn” (doing stuff together) rules.
Europa / Europizza / Benelux
Europizza – Fine food, fine wine, oh and the’ also serve pizza. During Strip Fest they’re running pizza classes – learn to make your own.
Benelux is where you go for snack, aperitivo and a dance. For Strip Fest, @echoboxradio will be there playing music and telling stories about the festival artists. There’ll be some live acts too.
Europa is where chef Rein op ‘t Root + team do creative tasting menus with interesting wines. Normally dinner-only, but for Strip Fest they’re doing a special lunch.
Gallery van Fanny Freytag
Fanny Freytag is a small-but-mighty gallery that shows everything from playful personal stories to art that makes you think. They’re all about giving artists (local and international) space to experiment.
FC Hyena
FC Hyena, a waterfront cinema at the IJ, serves up great food, drinks, and movies. On sunny days, its terrace is a sun-soaked hangout all day long.
Garage Noord
This transformed auto garage is now a vibrant nightclub and restaurant, pulsing with inclusivity and energy. By day, savor flavors at Sichuan Territory—their new greenhouse sister venue serving fiery Chinese BBQ, wok stir-fries, and dope cocktails. By night, Garage Noord becomes a genre-defying dancefloor.
Hotel Goudfazant
Hotel de Goudfazant, a restaurant with an industrial-chic vibe, serving stunning dishes in a striking setting. Their in-house bakery serves some of the best bread of the North side. Feeling nostalgic? During Strip Fest hey’re hosting the best Oasis Revival Band in the World.
Kwie Kwie
This Surinamese pop-up is your tropical escape: fiery Surinamese flavors, cocktails with a kick, beach chairs by the water, and hella waterscooters.
Likeminds
For over a decade, Likeminds has been the creative heartbeat of urban artistry—a dynamic theater collective and talent incubator that transforms raw city stories into bold, multidisciplinary performances. Their work thrives on themes like diversity, social justice, and youth culture, fusing drama, music, and visual art into productions that are by and for the city itself.
Monk
Monk is a bouldering gym where beginners and experienced climbers can challenge themselves.
murmur
murmur is a bar with hand-built speaker system nestled in the back of a building behind the Johan van Hasseltweg, serving as a community space for music outside the mainstream. On weekends, collectors share the dearest parts of their music libraries in long sets and they host adventurous label + concert nights, whilst you can enjoy wholesome Lebanese meals by their chef Micheline Nahra.
Oedipus Craft Space
Where beer, burgers, music, art, craft, and space collide! During Strip Fest, come curious by day for a Lemonade workshop, design your own label or get creative with graffiti.
PARK
At PARK AMSTERAM, skateboarding is the soul—but the vibe is everything. This is where concrete meets culture, with Matto Noord slinging wood-fired pizzas (made with love, eaten with joy) and Bar KRAP pouring killer cocktails and local brews.
Skatecafe Karin & Yvonne
Skatecafe: the home of a halfpipe in a restaurant. Pizzas, beers and a bruine kroeg in Dick & Dick, a football field, a draaimolen and a Spanish restaurant in their courtyard. All these crazy places turn into an even craziest club in the night.
